St. James Food Basket is the food bank which serves the central Etobicoke area. Every week, the Food Basket supports over 350 low-income families living in our neighbourhood with nutritious food, from its location at 400 Burnhamthorpe Road. It is a registered charity and part of the Daily Bread Food Bank network. 30% of the individuals supported by St James Food Basket are under the age of 16.
This spring, my family and I are organizing a front porch food drive and silent auction to support the St. James Food Basket.
Front Porch Food Drive
Do you have any non-perishable food items that you would be able to donate? Would you be able to add a couple of the most-needed items on your next trip to the grocery store? If so please let us know, and then leave them on your front porch where we will pick them up on Saturday May 6, May 13, or May 20th.
